LG P350 Disassembly

After using the LG Optimus Me P350 for 5 years outdoors as a mobile webcam, the battery expanded and the phone ceased to function. To see if there were any fluids or other obvious hardware damage, I did a disassembly.

The P350 uses the call button as power button (bottom right).

Pressing both volume buttons and the power button boots into emergency mode. Pressing volume down and both call and end call buttons boots into flash mode. Removing the back cover starts at the top.

Possibly you need a to run around the edge with a plastic knife if the cover is stuck on. Once you get it off, you are greeted with the inner cover.

Remove SIM card and SD card (red) and the 7 screws (turquoise) that hold the inner cover into place. This time, you definitely have to use a plastic knife to remove the inner cover.

The split is between the silver (inner cover) and black (screen and front cover). Start from the top or bottom of the phone, it is easiest there, and work your way around. Once off, the board greets you.

The metal plate that isolates the battery from the board is just clipped on in four places (turquoise). Use a plastic knife or a fine pincer and start on the right side, it is easier there. And here is the full board.

In my case, there was no obvious hardware damage. Still, I hope this disassembly might help other people with theirs. Have a nice day!
